Awaken the Sacred Rhythm of the Season
As the ice melts — life stirs.
Each season leaves its own unique imprint on our bodies, influencing our physical and mental states in distinct ways. According to Ayurveda; the ancient system of holistic medicine, this natural interplay is called Ritu Charya — “Ritu” meaning season and “Chayra” referring to our daily regimen or flow. There are six seasons recognized in this tradition, with the Vasanta Ritucharya taking center stage from mid March to early May.
As the ice thaws and nature shifts from dormancy to movement, we too transition from stillness into a state of renewal — mirroring the sacred rhythm of Vasanta, a time of emerging lightness and vibrant flow.
To align with seasonal changes, incorporating detoxifying lifestyle practices can help restore balance and vitality. Simple yet effective techniques include starting the day with warm lemon water to stimulate digestion, following a Kapha-balancing diet in spring with light, warm, and dry foods, practicing Abhyanga (self-massage with warm oil) to enhance lymphatic flow and circulation, and engaging in gentle Hatha Yoga to support overall detoxification.
Below is a 10-minute gentle detox yoga sequence designed to promote digestion, stimulate lymphatic flow, and help release toxins, supporting your body’s natural renewal process.
